Abstract
This short piece is a critical intervention in the debate on gender roles in the live events industry. Whilst is recognised that stereotypical roles may not necessarily be illegal, the author argues that organisations in the industry can be pro-active in promoting a more level employment playing field. The piece also alludes to past stereotypes in the entertainment industry that would not be acceptable in the present day, and how the current gender-fication in many areas of the live events industry may be viewed by future generations.
