Thompson, Ian, Shiell, Stephen and Wilson, Richard (2016) BELL. [Performance]

Full text not available from this repository.

BELL was a site-specific composition performed to an audience of c.150 at St Leonard’s Church, Shoreditch, London. An electro-acoustic composition based on the tintinnabulation of the bell in the south transept of the church (Thompson) was mixed with a live improvisation using the bell and objects (Shiell), and percussion (Wilson). It was diffused through a six-speaker system (Thompson) that surrounded the audience. The piece deconstructed the resonant overtones of the bell with the aim of creating a sense of physical immersion inside the bell itself.
