Abstract

This present interdisciplinary Special Issue brings together the current work of well-established as well as young researchers in the different fields of bilingual language acquisition, history (i.e., the historic processes that result in the consti-tution of a new language) and contact languages in education and sociolinguis-tics, which allows a fresh look at some widely held beliefs.
