Abstract

The article notes Taylor v Burton [2021] EWHC 1454 (Admin), confirming that a magistrates' court could order a landlord to compensate a tenant for expenses incurred in proceedings brought to compel the landlord to alleviate damp. The article details the guidance given on the quantum of compensation and the requirements for a landlord's defence.
