Abstract

The presentation, acknowledges history of ‘suburban’ middle class Peckham dispelling myths of Peckham always being ‘urban’, working class; explores spaces in Peckham occupied/ influenced/enjoyed by African/diaspora community; highlights lived in experiences /community engagement of local African/diaspora community from the 1950s and reflects on the impact on patterns/changes in those spaces, engaging audience in Q&A on re-generation and gentrification in Peckham.
