Abstract

This paper examines the Olympic Haussmannization from diffierent angles, particularly the ways that Olympic sites have been integrated into the host city's urban fabric evident in history, and the key issues that impact on the delivery of such a scheme. Focus is made on their location, grain and aggregate layout, and their potential to adjust the urbanscape and the orientation of local development. The strength of the analysis lies in the combination of theoretical studies and the richness of empirical information.
