Abstract

This study analyses the structure of the PhD programme in Business and Economics in the UK. It compares and draws parallels between a PhD in Germany and the UK. The entry qualifications for potential candidates are discussed. Furthermore, a number of different solutions to finance the PhD are offered. The top universities in the UK are presented in detail with potential topic areas. Overall, the study adds knowledge in this somewhat neglected area to guide potential and current PhD students as well as their supervisors.
