Abstract

The Dubai Global Convention 2019 represents an apt and hopefully bellwether opportunity to consider what the next steps in the journey of business excellence should be. Do we need to re-engage with stakeholders and rethink our approaches and excellence models and what we mean by excellence in the face of climate change, environmental, resource and other challenges? There are questions that directors and boards could and should consider in relation to creating high performance boards; corporate transformation and innovation; agile and innovative leadership; building quality and continual improvement cultures; fostering creativity and innovation; disruptive and enabling technologies; and navigating governance, sustainability and technological challenges. These are all topics on the agenda of the World Congress on Leadership for Business Excellence and Innovation element of the 2019 convention.
