Abstract

In the 1970s, the first wave of the global green industry emerged through the advancement of environmental laws and regulations following growing awareness of the need for pollution control and conservation of natural resources. The second wave of the green industry’s development, especially the low-carbon energy industry and the carbon emissions related servicing sector, gained momentum in the 1990s after the advancement of climate change science and the establishment of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change aimed at controlling the emissions of anthropogenic sources of greenhouse gases.
