Highmore, Sue and Pawlowski, Mark (2010) Practitioner's page (January/February) - practice points: dealing with joint parties. Landlord and Tenant Review, 14 (1). pp. 28-33. ISSN 1365-8018Full text not available from this repository.
This issue of Practitioner's Page examines the legal rules applicable when leases are granted by, or to, more than one party. Reviews the procedure for granting a lease of a co-owned property, the position where only one co-owner purports to grant a lease and whether co-landlords must act together in all matters concerning the lease. Discusses how to establish if flat sharers are really co-tenants, the actions which a co-tenant can perform unilaterally and whether landlords leasing to co-tenants must involve both in any enforcement proceedings.
