Abstract

The data presented and considered is taken from a 2 year Action Research Project which looks at the approaches used in some Pacific Rim countries, combined with the best of what we already do in the UK. It challenges Mathematics Leaders to re-think their school approach to the teaching and learning of Times Tables, and focus on the importance of consistency and progression through key models for conceptual understanding. This lecture will present and discuss the findings from cohort 1 and 2 of schools taking part - 70 schools over 2 years.
